In this century of extremes, Protestantism kept pace with modernity: the first women pastors, a theological renewal represented by Karl Barth, heroes like Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a victim of Nazism. A fresco evokes the American story, from covered wagons to rocket ships, from the birth of Pentecostalism to megachurches. The Southern hemisphere is also addressed in all its diversity.
For the duration of the temporary exhibition “CALVIN IN AMERICA” two others films can be watched in this room:
“The Reformation in… 7 minutes!” To help visitors better understand the beginnings of Protestantism and the precious items displayed at MIR. For the first chapter, click here.
“Silence, we’re preaching!”: A montage of various videoclips from iconic films that evoke the many aspects of a preacher’s life.
