Thursday November 23, International Museum of the Reformation, 6:30 p.m.

In 1523, Zurich organized a dispute to find a way out of the unrest caused by the questioning of the authority of the Church in the name of a return to the unique authority of the Bible. The future Reformer Ulrich Zwingli wrote 67 theses for this debate which pitted him against delegates from the Roman Church in front of 600 spectators! At the end, the Council of Zurich opted for the Reform, a decision with significant meaning for the future of events. On this model, several disputes were organized during the decade, in Baden, Bern, Geneva or Lausanne, with varying success. Five centuries later, the Protestant historian Pierrick Hildenbrand comes to tell the MIR behind the scenes and the progress of these disputes which were so decisive for the beginnings of Protestantism.
